CONTEXT & ACHIEVEMENTS
[This project was about the development of the Douro’s Inland Waterways Emergency Plan (Plano de Emergência da Via Navegável do Douro). Ana Pires has contributed as a GIS specialist and consultant under the main coordination of Dr. Ângela Seixas (ISCIA, Instituto Superior de Ciências da Informação e da Administração, Aveiro). Ana Pires has written the report and the methodology chapter for this Plan, as well as, contributed to the cartographic elements (layers, rasters, points, polygons and lines) georreferenciation and vectorization. Also contributed to the development of the GIS geodatabase (PGDB) for all the gathered data and information) about the Douro’s Inland Waterways components.]

CONTEXT & ACHIEVEMENTS
[Project CARTGALICIA (GIS mapping for the study of coastal erosion on the coast of Galicia), funded by Fundación Empresa Universidade Galega with the following participant institutions: University of Santiago Compostela (USC, Spain) and LABCARGA|ISEP (Laboratory of Cartography and Applied Geology, School of Engineering (ISEP), Polytechnic of Porto). Ana Pires was the GIS coordinator of this project, it was vectorized more than 1200 km of coastline, for different years (1956, 2003, 2006 and 2008). Ana Pires applied the DSAS extension to analyse the shoreline change and cliff recession, and to create 3D models and conceptual models concerning coastal dynamics.].

[The principal investigator was Prof. J. Martins Carvalho. Participant institution: LABCARGA (Laboratory of Cartography and Applied Geology, School of Engineering (ISEP), Polytechnic of Porto). Ana Pires was a GIS consultant in this project. Member of team to develop a GIS platform with a geodatabase (PGDB) for all the gathered data and information) about underground and surface water resources in Galicia and North Portugal (NW Spain). Ana Pires contributed to the cartographic elements (layers, rasters, points, polygons and lines) georreferenciation and vectorization. Ana Pires also cooperate in the exhaustive inventory of springs, fountains and the hydromineral resources along this region, as well as, also collaborated in the water analysis campaigns.].

Technical and scientific project funded by GGC Lda. Company and with LABCARGA|ISEP coordination (Prof. Helder I. Chaminé). Ana Pires was a team member and GIS consultant/specialist. Responsible for the exploration, inventory, geological and geotechnical characterization of all the quarries studied.].
Final report Irmãos Cavaco S.A. with 1 memory, attachments: 3 volumes with drawings, 3 volumes with the quarries datasheets, 2DVD-Roms with databases and GIS project.
Final report CCDR-Norte with 1 memory 40 pp. + 4 attachments in DVD.
